KCTP has been bringing exciting productions to the Kennedale community since 2018. Do you love Broadway tunes? Grab a lawn chair and join us in the spring for our annual outdoor musical in the park! More of a fan of shows where everyone doesn’t sing? Come see us later in the year for our fall play! With these and a number of other small productions year round, you can be sure there is always something to keep you entertained!

Where do I buy my ticket for the show?

You DON’T! One of the things that makes our theatre unique within the metroplex is that KCTP does not charge admission or sell tickets. Instead, our cast will come around with buckets at the end of the show to take donations from those who feel called to give. Giving is also available online via our secure donation portal!

KCTP is an entirely volunteer organization (no one gets paid except the sound technician that we hire for each show!), and many of the costs of our productions are funded out of pocket by our actors and directors. We can’t do it without your help, though! We sincerely appreciate any amount that you can spare to help keep this theatre going!

Are all of KCTP’s productions held outdoors?

KCTP’s spring musical is always an outdoor production, however, locations for our other productions will vary based on the time of year. Any location listed other than Kennedale TownCenter Park will be an indoor venue.

Is there seating available at the park?

There is very limited seating available at the picnic tables, which are positioned around the edges of the park. For the best seating, bring a lawn chair and sit in the middle!

What happens if an outdoor production gets rained out?

KCTP will always plan either a backup date or a backup location for our show for exactly this reason. Be sure to check our website and social media for updates if the weather looks bad on show day!

Is it alright to take photos or videos during the performance?

Due to copyright law, videoing the performance is strictly prohibited. Flash photography is also prohibited, as it is incredibly distracting to our performers. Taking photos without using the flash is permitted, however, we ask that audience members who wish to take photos remain respectful of our performers and the rest of our audience. The people behind you want to see the show, not your phone or camera sticking up in the air blocking their view!

Are there bathrooms at the park?

Yes and no. The park itself does not have bathrooms, but KCTP will always arrange to have either the Kennedale Library or Kennedale Police Department, both directly adjacent to the park, open for public use. Still, we recommend that you go before the show starts!

Can children play on the playground during the performance?

No. The playground will be closed to the public starting about 15 minutes before the show begins. Our actors and crewmembers need the area behind the stage to be cleared so that set pieces, props, and costume changes can happen quickly and safely. Additionally, playing children, try as they might, typically just can’t stay quiet on a playground! KCTP cast and crew will nicely send any children who wander over to the playground back to their parents.
